The difference between Energy, Vibration, and Frequency
3-part series
PART 3: FREQUENCY
The Music That Comes from Within
Once upon a time, there was an old craftsman named Leonardo, famous throughout the village for his wooden radios. These were not ordinary radios: they had no knobs to search for stations, only one large, smooth amber dial. People said these radios didn’t tune into external channels, but something that came from within the listener.
One day, his grandson Filippo, a boy often restless and melancholic, asked him:
“Grandpa, why does my radio always play such sad music? Sometimes it’s just a low, heavy hum, like a lament.”
Leonardo smiled gently, took the boy’s radio in his hands, and caressed it.
“It’s not the radio that is sad, Filippo. It’s playing the music it finds inside you. Think of it this way: your soul, right now, is like a room on the ground floor of a big house. Down there, in the dark, sounds are muffled, slow, a little gloomy. It’s normal to feel that way sometimes.”
Filippo looked at him, confused.
“Frequency,” the grandfather continued, “is nothing more than the floor of the house where you choose to live with your thoughts. When you feel angry, disappointed, or sad, it’s as if you’re furnishing your basement. The sounds you’ll hear come from there, low and heavy, because that’s the ‘vibration’ of that room.”
“And how do I get to the higher floors?” the boy asked, with a hint of hope in his voice.
“You don’t need to make a huge effort. You don’t need to build a staircase. The staircase is already there. Start with something small. Tomorrow morning, when you wake up, instead of thinking about what you lack, pause for a moment. Think about the warmth of the sun coming through the window, the taste of toasted bread, the fact that you have a brand-new day ahead. You don’t need to pretend to be happy; you just need to notice one small beautiful thing. That thought, with its emotion, is the first step.”
Filippo decided to try. The next day, he woke up with the usual grey cloud in his mind and he made an effort to remember his grandfather’s words. He focused on the smell of coffee rising from the kitchen.
He inhaled deeply and it felt as if a small crack of light had opened. As he ate breakfast, instead of dwelling on his problems, he looked at the wood grain of the table, wondering about the stories the tree had lived.
That afternoon, back home, he turned on his radio as usual. This time, instead of the usual moan, he heard a faint but clear melody, like a piano played from afar. It was still a little melancholic, yet there was a new sweetness in it.
He continued this way for days. He found small moments of gratitude: a kind word from a friend, the beauty of a flower by the roadside, the feeling of warm water on his skin. He wasn’t changing the world outside; he was simply shifting his attention, step by step.
A week later, he sat next to his radio and switched it on. From the wooden speaker came a full, vibrant music, like a string orchestra playing a melody filled with hope.
The notes were bright, almost crystalline.
He ran to his grandfather, eyes shining.
“Grandpa, it works! The music has changed!”
Leo smiled.
“You see, Filippo? The radio never changed. You did. You haven’t eliminated the basement; it will always be part of the house. But you’ve learned that you can choose to spend your time on the higher floors, where the air is lighter and the music more beautiful. Frequency is simply this: choosing which inner music you want to listen to.”
Introduction
If energy is the substance and vibration is the movement, frequency is the rhythm. It is the speed at which your energy vibrates. Higher frequencies correspond to expanded states of consciousness, purer emotions, greater clarity. Lower frequencies are connected to fear, contraction and disconnection.
Understanding frequency means learning to recognize your level of presence, awareness and openness.
Frequency as a State of Consciousness
Frequency is not “right” or “wrong.” It is a reflection of your inner state. When you feel connected, inspired, or peaceful, your frequency rises. When you feel anxious, judgmental, or tired, your frequency drops.
Frequency works like this: the more you elevate your inner world, the more you access new spaces of awareness and possibility.
.

How to Raise Your Frequency
- Through presence in the body
- Through emotional clarity
- Through kinder thoughts
- Through authentic connections
- Through silence
- Through gratitude
It’s not about “feeling good all the time” rather about consciously choosing the rhythm you want to live in.
Conclusion
Energy, vibration, and frequency are three aspects of the same truth: your essence is alive, moving and constantly transforming. Understanding them means learning to live with more awareness, authenticity and presence.
